Egg Container.
A whimsical plant inspires this piece. The negative spaces are used to make the viewer look through and walk to the other side of the form. Balance is distributed to create a swivel that also brings your eye around the piece in a graceful manner. Texture is applied to the wine colored bands to add interest and detail. Repetition is used with circles. The negative spaces, cushioning on the outside of the egg, and the wine colored band all have a spherical influence. Function is also a large factor in the piece. Each pod slides out of the central white form. The pods themselves fold open and you can remove the egg safely. The overall piece has detail throughout that is intended to keep the viewer interested.
