Rube Goldberg.

This project consists of a series of chain reactions that cause interesting affects and environment. The ultimate goal at the end of the chain reaction is a catapult flies forward releasing confide into the air. This piece used a wide range of materials to make a smooth run. It was extremely difficult to get eevery section of this piece to work correctly so that it made a full run through. However this piece does in fact function successfully. It interests the viewer by continually carrying the eye through out the entire piece with the use of moving objects.

Simple Machine.
This piece functions like a pendulum, swinging back and forth. The spikes are arbitrarily placed to give an uneasy feeling. The idea of Karma that what you say and do will always come back to you is the thought in this piece. The spiked form has newspaper clippings with gossip and opinions written on it. Also in ink there are stereotypes and judgmental words all over the spiked piece.

Egg Container.
A whimsical plant inspires this piece. The negative spaces are used to make the viewer look through and walk to the other side of the form. Balance is distributed to create a swivel that also brings your eye around the piece in a graceful manner. Texture is applied to the wine colored bands to add interest and detail. Repetition is used with circles. The negative spaces, cushioning on the outside of the egg, and the wine colored band all have a spherical influence. Function is also a large factor in the piece. Each pod slides out of the central white form. The pods themselves fold open and you can remove the egg safely. The overall piece has detail throughout that is intended to keep the viewer interested.

Desire.
This piece displays the desire to have a child. The use of color represents the personality the child would have. The light inside the form represents an eccentric, bright, daring personality that is growing with the woman. The slouched position shows a woman grasping a hug form her child. The spaceship shows a particular interest the chil has along with the kite the leads the eye to the other side of the piece.

Music - Plaster

Implied line is used to carry the viewer around the entire piece. The three repeated spike-like forms carry the implied line to the three green wave-like forms. Each form is designed to represent a genre of music. The spiked form represents punk rock through the use of jagged likes. The spikes on that form are intended to relate to a Mohawk, a hairstyle that is associated with punk music. The central form is representational of classical music. Therefore the central classical shares all the colors of the entire piece. The small green and purple spherical form represents indie music because it is very unique form displaying the independence of indie music. The triangular forms yellow and purple form is represtational of alternative rock which is unconventional yet has a soothing classical way about itm therefore organic waves were added to the triangular forms. The last form is the green and purple form that supports the central form. It is representational of reggae music. The small oval cut outs represent smooth repetitive beats that are reminiscent of reggae music.

Paper Lamination
Through non-representational design repetition and negative space was intentionally used to create an interesting form. The space was intentionally used to create an interesting form. The variety in the sizes of the ridges implies growth and movement. The two similar forms are placed in a crossed position to carry the viewer forms are placed in a c
crossed position to carry the viewer's eye from one form to another. An overall organic form was used to give a positive feeling from this piece.
